NMR spectrometers

The biological NMR laboratory is equipped with an ultra-shielded widebore Bruker Avance 700 MHz (16.5 T) spectrometer enabling state-of-the-art solid- and liquid-state biological NMR and a widebore Bruker Avance 400 MHz (9.4 T) spectrometer dedicated to biological solid-state NMR spectroscopy. These spectrometers are equipped with 2.5 mm, 4 mm, and flat-coil NMR triple-resonance solid-state NMR probes, as well as liquid-state NMR probes for protein liquid-state NMR as well as metabolomics NMR. Furthermore, we have - through the solid-state NMR center activities - access to Varian 600 MHz wide-bore, 400 MHz wide-bore, 300 MHz, and 200 MHz NMR instruments equipped with double-, triple-, and flat-coil NMR probes.


In supplement to our connection to central institute computer systems and computers at the Instrument Center for Solid-State NMR Spectroscopy, the NMR group is presently equipped with 12 fast linux workstations used for design of multiple-pulse experiments, simulation of solid-state NMR spectra, and determination of peptide/protein structures from liquid- and solid-state NMR spectra.

Biochemistry and Chemistry laboratories

The NMR group has a well-equipped biochemistry laboratory for sample preparation, chemistry, and protein chemistry work. The laboratory is equipped with various centrifuges, freeze drier, ovens, weights, etc etc for standard work. In addition we have a laboratory equipped with a semi-automatic peptide synthesizer. Through collaborations, we have furhter access to state-of-the-art protein chemistry and chemistry laboratories, including access to peptide synthesis, protein expression, HPLC, mass spectroscopy, etc.
